Wes Fogden

Born 1988
Wes’s triumphant return to the Hawks in the summer of 2016 is the latest step in a journey that has seen him play for a variety of league and non-league clubs across the south.

He began his career at Brighton and Hove Albion in July 2004, signing as a trainee. He made three appearances for the Seagulls and enjoyed loan spells at Dorchester and Bognor before moving to Dorchester permanently in September 2008. During his loan with the Magpies he played 14 games in all, adding a further 27 through the first half of 2008/09 and scoring seven goals overall.

He joined the Hawks for the first time at the start of February 2008, and over four seasons amassed 118 appearances. His impressive attacking midfield play also led to 35 goals. Possibly the most celebrated of the squad at the time, Wes was awarded the Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Season awards for 2009/10, and then won the Supporters’ award again for 2010/11. He remains unique in winning the Player of the Month award three times consecutively from January to March 2010.

His success saw him move to then League One side AFC Bournemouth in October 2011 on loan, which was made permanent with a three and a half year deal in February 2012. With the Cherries he played 59 games in all, scoring six goals, and then signed with Portsmouth in January 2014.

At Pompey he played 28 games over two seasons, scoring twice before joining Yeovil Town at the end of his 18 month contract last season. Released by the League Two side in May, Wes rejoined the Hawks in June.
