Sammy Igoe

Born 1975
Sammy originally tried out for the Hawks in summer 2008 before returning to league football, but moved permanently to Westleigh Park after leaving AFC Bournemouth in June 2010 ahead of interest from Conference Premier big guns Luton Town.

The vastly experienced 35 year old enjoyed a long Football League career which has seen him play over 500 professional games. He started out as a trainee with Portsmouth, playing over 200 games between 1994 and 2000, when Reading paid 100,000 for his services. In three seasons with the Royals he appeared 105 times before moving on to Swindon Town in July 2003, where he stayed two seasons playing a further 90 games.

In July 2005 he joined Millwall for a season, and went on loan to Bristol Rovers for three months before signing for the West Country side for a two season spell in 2006. With Rovers he appeared 83 times, and then made his move to Bournemouth, where he played 57 games from July 2008 to his departure in May 2010.

In his inaugural season with the Hawks he appeared 38 times, scoring twice.
