Neil Sharp(Central Defence)
|Neil joined the Hawks in July 2004 after Swansea City expended their playing budget before re-signing the central defender back from Woking. The 29 year old began his career with Queens Park Rangers before short spells at Hayes, Boreham Wood and Barry Town lead him to Merthyr Tydfil, where he signed in August 2001. Neil has also played for the Cayman Islands International side.
After only two months at Penydarren Park, Colin Addison signed Neil for Swansea City on October 24th 2001. He made 25 league appearances for the Swans and had his contract extended to May 2003, when he moved to Woking. He earned the man of the match award on his league debut for the Cards, quickly installing himself as a fan favourite, and enjoyed regular football there until his departure by mutual consent in April 2004.
In his first three seasons with the Hawks Neil has made 117 appearances, creating a strong defensive partnership with Tom Jordan. He has also proved lethal in the penalty box, scoring eight goals from corners.
Personal circumstances meant Neil didnt look to renew his contract with the Hawks when it expired in June 2008.
