Aaron Skelton

Born 1974
Aaron’s playing history is a tale of two clubs, Luton Town and Colchester United. Starting as a trainee with the Hatters in December 1992, it wasn’t until 1994 after a year of injury that he made his first appearance. Kept out of the team again by cruciate ligament damage, he eventually left Luton in 1997 having made a total of 13 appearances.

Colchester signed him during the close season and from 1997 to 2001 Aaron became a core component of the side as they rose from Division Three to Division Two. Scoring some spectacular goals from his midfield position, he made almost 150 appearances in all for the Us and took the Player of the Season award twice in succession.

He moved back to Luton as their captain for the 2001/02 season, but again fell foul of injury problems, making just 17 league appearances before being released in June 2003. He joined the Hawks two days before the start of the 2003/04 season to bring support to the defence, but it was eventually in the midfield where he proved his substantial worth during the chase for promotion.
