Puts me in mind of a Famous Five picnic, with nursey packing us a huge ham and lashings of ginger beer......

If I'm hot and bovvered, a long cold lager shandy:

If I'm relaxed and chilling out, a glass of chilled pinot grigio, maybe with a dash of lemonade.

Or if someone else is buying...... whatever.

Sounds good to me ... I might have to track some down.

Suspect it would probably go down particularly well while watching a nice leisurely championship cricket match! ;)

Ooh.

I could offer a Badger Golden Champion to the list, fruity and expressive. Or indeed being connected to the Isle of Man, the Okell's IPA that Sainsbury's have adopted since their Best of Britain Beer Festival last year is equally quaffable.

Ice cold Pear Cider. Best i've tried so far is St Hellier 5% vol. At Morrisons.
Very nice with a barby

Oh no, I can hear Ade know, murmuring about wood lice and floor sweepings...don't rise to the bait Ade....

...although the pint of Summer Lightening inflicted upon us all that day at Worcester will live long in the memories, if not the gut...

I know, I really ought to stop bringing it up...but then again it's not my fault it's left me with a bad case of acid reflux....

It must be an age thing - real ale is becoming more appealing to me as I rush towards 40!

i'll try again:

vile muck. no one actually likes real ale, it makes you wince, grow facial hair and clogs...

people just think they SHOULD like it, as in there must be SOMETHING in it....

as in that king streaker who people said had cool clothes....

havin said that when i was a kid i didn't like sprouts and guiness....
