Update on most things 13/5/19

South Central League is finished until July, and in general although we didn't set the world on fire it was a very enjoyable competition to be part of. Congrats to Pompey who swept all aside to win all three sessions. Also congrats to Eastleigh for providing the third-best buffet (no cakes) on the South Coast.

The Rich Bonsey Memorial 60+ Festival on 28th April was a huge success, and while the Many Shades of Grey won the overall festival, it was the three charities British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, and Versus Arthritis who were the real winners, with over £600 per charity being raised. We were all spoiled by the best buffet (cakes and canapes and goodness knows how much more) on the south coast, courtesy of Suzette and Natalie Gray.

Along with Rich Bonsey we have now also lost Clive Wilkin to cancer, and given that Rich died on 25th April 2017 and Clive on 4th May 2019, it seems appropriate that next year's Festival at the end of April be dedicated to both of them.

We went to Bognor's Festival at Nyewood Lane on 12th May where we were beaten into second place by Worthing in slightly controversial circumstances, the referee being happy to allow tackles from behind, one of which led to the only goal of the deciding game. However we were delighted to partake of the second-best buffet (nice cakes) on the south coast by way of compensation.

With so many new signings over the past year and a half, it is time for new school uniform in the shape of our training kit. Thanks to funding from Mars JustPlay via the FA we can subsidise our players' new kit, and Shaun is on the case. It will cost £80 per player, with the first 30 being given a £20 discount.
