September and October fixtures

Sunday 4th September, 2.00pm kick-off, West Leigh Park, Charity Exhibition Event. A great opportunity to play on the hallowed turf of West Leigh Park, and for once we have two refs in charge – Lee Roberts and Darren “Edge” Welch, who will be taking turns to monitor on-the-ball and off-the-ball affairs. Good news is that the Taxi Drivers’ star player Tony Oakey is in training for his comeback fight so won’t be playing!

Sunday 11th September, Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Centre, Gatting Way, off Park Rd ,Uxbridge, UB8 1ES. Walking Football United Regional (South East Zone C) against Uxbridge Amblers and AFC Wimbledon (Lambourne Golfers have dropped out due to a golf tournament!). 10.30am changing facilities and warm up pitch available, 11.00am Order of Play draw and Referee (Middlesex FA) briefing of the rules. 11.15am match 1 - Team A v Team B, 12.05pm match 2 - Team A v Team C, 12.55pm match 3 - Team B v Team C. 13.30 completion of round Robin matches. The competition is 6 a side with squads of up to 9 players. Roll on roll off subs are allowed throughout. All matches are 15 minutes each way with 5 minutes half time, and a 10 minute break between matches. The Round robin format is 3pts for a win,1pt for a draw. If teams are level on points at the completion of matches then only the head to head scores count if still level teams will play 5 minutes extra time, then a 5 penalty shootout and then sudden death penalties. Please note that the 3g pitches are open sided and goals are futsal size goals. Shin pads and astro footwear must be worn - no studs allowed. Full rules are available on the Walking Football United website.

Friday 30th September, Braywick Astro, Maidenhead, Macmillan Charity 6-a-side Tournament, 11.00am kick-off, players must be aged 55+.

Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th October, “Le Tour de France”, Cleguerec, near Pontivy, Brittany, friendly international tournament. No idea of exact costs yet, but likely to be about £150.00 per person. WAGs welcome. It would be good to have eight players, or possibly twelve if we can raise that many. Other teams from this area have been invited to send players, and I know some from Bristol City will be going as well.

Sunday 30th October, Autumn Festival, Park Community School, 1.00pm kick-off, usual rules apply. I haven’t asked for names/numbers yet, but please put this in your diary – and note that it replaces the original date of 9th October (changed due to the Tour de France date).

Also possibly:
Saturday 5th November vs Hendon (a) tbc
