Maidenhead the first to pick up the gauntlet

Postby Probably Shirts » Mon Sep 14, 2015 2:25 pm

Today we have had a response from Maidenhead United, who are interested in playing a WF match ahead of the first team fixture on 14th November.

I am now waiting for them to reply confirming whether they'll be able to bring one or two teams.
This will be 6-a-side, 12 mins each way, squads of (up to) 10 with rolling subs, and the Hants FA rules which are 3-touch limit and no picking up back-passes, no head-height restrictions, absolutely no running (goalkeepers are the only ones allowed to have two feet off the ground at any time to dive for a save).

I can try to get a local 3G pitch for half an hour with a view to kick-off at 1.00pm, so that we can be at the ground by 2.00 for a pint or two ahead of the league game. Alternatively if they can bring two teams down we could go for a 12.30 kick-off and book the pitch for an hour, as I hope we’d be able to get two teams out as well.

We'll split the cost of the pitch with them, but no post-match buffet!

The return match should be on 30th January (unless we are in the 4th round of the FA cup again). :D
