Like every hawk fan am excited to know who and when we will be playing each team and can start planning whitch matches can do around work and ones can book off to go to, I think personally we will be away first match, another tough national south league some great teams in it, am happy with the squad been recruited and will be up their, I think our main challengers to try beat us for the top spot will be Dartford, what's your opinions fellow hawks for upcoming season

Why is there an odd number of teams in our league this season?

Phil, basically its because of Bury's demise last season which meant that the Football League operated with 1 team short. They made the numbers up by promoting 2 teams from the National League and only relegating 1 from League 2. Subsequently the National league Promoted 4 sides from Conf N and S and only relegated 3 to maintain their numbers, 2 of those clubs being Northern based and 1 southern, hence why Conf S is 1 club short this season.

Hope this all makes sense.

Very comprehensive, thanks Baz.
Surely they could have promoted one more from a lower league ad infinitum to rebalance the leagues. I suppose it was a little too difficult in the current climate.
