Hawks vs Bognor

Loved the game tonight and despite it being a friendly, thought it was a great run out. The squad looks good and no one had a bad game. The standouts for me were Roarie, Jonah, Magri, Straks, Read and Taylor. Taylor especially was very quick and looks like he’ll be a handful for defenders. Jonah took his goals well and we look like developing into an organised unit.

Sitting behind Dos and Bairdy in the stand, it was great hearing the encouragement they gave to the players and the amount of instructions given. For my first Hawks run out this season, I’ve come away buzzing about our new team. COYH!!

A pleasant evening in the sunshine. Another good workout for the squad, Bognor passed the ball around neatly as you would expect from them thus making us work a bit harder to get the ball back which is good, but also when we were in possession, which was for the majority of the game, the passing and movement is coming together nicely, made easier by the nature of a perfectly flat pitch.

2 more well taken goals from Jonah and a good strike from Josh from a rebound off the post. Another 90 minutes under their belts, and still playing well within themselves as you would expect at this stage but we can see the progress that is slowly being made.

Early signs are very promising. Cant read too much into the first couple of friendlies but plenty of positives so far

Straker & Deacon look like they are going to be a nightmare for other teams down the left, Ayunga starting off by finding the back of the net, Taylor looks really good, Read definitely seems able to make the step up, Worner had a couple of good saves to make. Everything coming together nicely at this point

Pompey on Saturday is naturally a much tougher test, the 3 home games will no doubt test Magri & Beckwiths partnership more. Looking forward to seeing what this team can really do
The lessons learnt from the FA Cup run still live on... Westleigh Park has better paper towel dispensers than Anfield!!
